Mexico's shrimp export is set to reach 36 million kilograms by 2026, growing at a 0.9 percent year-on-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Since 1995, supply has increased 6.2 percent annually. Mexico was ranked 14th in 2021, with Myanmar ahead in first at 33.9 million kilograms. Ecuador, Argentina and Indonesia followed as the second, third and fourth-ranked countries, respectively. In 2018, Mexico's shrimp import was 101,480 kilograms, a massive 93.7 percent drop compared to the 1.6 million kilograms imported in 2017. Since 1995, demand has decreased by more than 58 percent year-on-year.
