In 2021, Morocco was the 33rd largest exporter, overtaken by the Philippines, Ecuador, Argentina and Indonesia. Morocco's shrimp imports are set to reach 15 million kilograms by 2026, a 1.2% increase from the 14 million kilograms reported in 2021. Since 1998, imports have decreased by 2.1% year on year. In 2021, Morocco was the 18th largest importer, overtaken by Thailand. China, Spain and Japan were the second, third and fourth largest importers respectively.
