This represents an increase of 0.6% each year since 2021, when imports of 161,740 kilograms were recorded. Since 2001, Moldavian demand for shrimp has been rising at a rate of 7.7% each year. In 2021, Moldavian ranked 82nd globally, with Nicaragua ahead at 161,740 kilograms. China, Spain, and Japan were second, third, and fourth in the rankings respectively.
