Maldivian shrimp imports are expected to reach 759,450 kilograms by 2026. This is an increase of 2.9% per year on average, since 2000, when the demand grew by 9.5% annually. Maldives came in 62nd place in 2021, with 638,580 kilograms imported. Hungary was the biggest importer, followed by China, Spain and Japan in second, third and fourth place respectively.
