Kuwait's exports of shrimp are forecast to fall by 16.5% to 20,580 kilograms by 2026. This is compared to the 24% year-on-year growth seen since 2005. In 2021, Kuwait was ranked 69th in shrimp exports, overtaken by the Dominican Republic at 56,520 kilograms. Ecuador, Argentina, and Indonesia are ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively. Kuwait's imports of shrimp, on the other hand, are estimated to grow 3.3% annually to 8,176,800 kilograms by 2026. This follows a 17.1% year-on-year increase since 2005. Last year Kuwait was placed 30th in shrimp imports, overtaken by South Africa at 6,709,100 kilograms. China, Spain, and Japan took second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
