Cheese production in Bhutan is forecast to drop slightly over the next five years. In 2021, the country produced 51 metric tons of cheese, coming in at number 102 in the global ranking. That’s down 0.8% year-on-year since 1966. Malta topped the chart in 2021 with 51 metric tons, while Germany, France and Italy were at numbers two, three and four respectively. By 2026, Bhutanese cheese production will drop further to just under 48 metric tons, a 0.9% decrease year-on-year.
