Key Market Indicators
Cheese consumption is on the rise and is projected to reach approximately 234 million kilograms by 2026. This growth is mainly attributable to an annual 0.7% year-on-year increase in demand. France, the United Kingdom and Germany ranked second, third, and fourth in cheese consumption, respectively. Finnish cheese production is falling, with an estimated 77,000 metric tons forecasted by 2026. This decrease is largely due to a 1% year-on-year decline since 1966. In 2021, Finland was ranked number 37 in cheese production, behind Bulgaria at 81,750 metric tons. Germany, France, and Italy were second, third, and fourth in the rankings, respectively.
