France, the United Kingdom and Germany are the top cheese consumers, ranked second, third and fourth respectively. German cheese production is also on the rise, increasing at an average rate of 0.7% year on year since 1966. This year, German production is estimated to reach 2.5 million metric tons, overtaking the United States at 2.4 million metric tons.
