Cheese consumption is on the rise. It is expected to reach 312 million kilograms by 2026, up 2.2% year on year on average. In 2020, it was 272.5 million kilograms. France, the UK and Germany ranked second, third and fourth in this ranking, respectively. Romanian cheese production is set to grow at a CAGR of 1.9%, reaching 145,410 metric tons by 2026. This is an increase of 1.8% from 1966. Romania came in at number 30 in 2021, with Israel just ahead at 129,750 metric tons. Germany, France and Italy were the second, third and fourth most prolific producers, respectively.
