Cheese consumption is expected to reach nearly 60 million kilograms by 2026, according to the latest estimates. This represents an increase of just under one percent since 2020. France, the United Kingdom and Germany were the second, third and fourth largest consumers of cheese. Estonia is also set to become a major cheese producer in the coming years. The country is projected to produce 59,670 metric tons of cheese by 2026, a rise of 2.5 percent since 2021. This puts Estonia in the 50th position in 2021, with Serbia ahead in the ranking. Germany, France and Italy were the second, third and fourth largest producers of cheese.
