Since 1966, Tanzania's tobacco supply has increased by about 2.9% each year. In the latest rankings for 2023, Tanzania placed ninth globally in tobacco production. Bangladesh slightly edged out Tanzania with its own production at around 130,000 metric tons. India, Brazil, and Zimbabwe secured the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively, in the global tobacco production rankings.
