Since 1966, the country's tobacco supply has increased at an average rate of 1.2% per year. In 2023, Uganda ranked 18th in global tobacco production. The Philippines slightly outpaced Uganda with a production of about 33,600 metric tons. Leading the rankings were India, Brazil, and Zimbabwe, holding the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
