Peruvian tobacco production is forecasted to decline over the next five years, with output expected to fall from approximately 1,740 metric tons in 2023 to about 1,420 metric tons by 2028. This represents an average annual decrease of 3.2%. The downward trend in Peru's tobacco supply has been ongoing since 1966, with an average yearly reduction of 2.2%. In the global rankings for 2023, Peru was positioned at number 68, just behind Ukraine, which also produced around 1,740 metric tons. Leading the list were India, Brazil, and Zimbabwe, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively.
