Tobacco sales in Kazakhstan are set to drop 2.5% annually to reach $163 million by 2026. This follows an average yearly growth of 1.8% since 2014. Kazakhstan was the 28th largest global market for tobacco in 2021, but was overtaken by Armenia with $189 million in sales. The top three global markets were Indonesia, the Philippines and Poland. Kazakhstan's tobacco production decreased dramatically in 2021, reaching 391 metric tons — a 44.1% decrease from 2020. Since 1997, the country's tobacco supply has decreased an average of 17.3% each year. Kazakhstan came in 97th in the global ranking in 2021, with Madagascar overtaking it with 391 metric tons. India, Brazil and Zimbabwe were the top three producers in 2021.
