Guatemala's tobacco production is projected to rise to approximately 35,100 metric tons by 2028, up from around 32,500 metric tons in 2023. This reflects an annual growth rate of 1.2%. Since 1966, Guatemala's tobacco supply has consistently increased by an average of 1.7% per year. In 2023, the country ranked 19th in global tobacco production, just behind Uganda, which also produced about 32,500 metric tons. Leading the global rankings, India, Brazil, and Zimbabwe occupied the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
