Polish tobacco production is projected to decline 1.3% year on year on average and reach 26,920 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, the country has seen a gradual decline of 1.5% year on year. In 2021, Vietnam overtook Poland with 29,010 metric tons and ranked number one, followed by India, Brazil and Zimbabwe. Polish tobacco sales are forecast to rise 1.5% year on year on average and reach $6,360 million by 2026. Since 1999, the market has grown 2.6% year on year. The Philippines came ahead of Poland in 2021 with $5,820 million, followed by Indonesia, the Philippines and Poland respectively. Since 2001, Polish demand for tobacco has decreased by 5.5 points year on year. In 2019, South Africa was number one with 17.1% of persons aged 15+ who were daily smokers, followed by Russia, Greece and Hungary.
