Jordanian tobacco production experienced a significant decline in 2023, with output falling to 13 metric tons, down from 34 metric tons in 2022. This marks a sharp 62% decrease compared to the previous year. Since 1966, the country's tobacco supply has shown a consistent downward trend, decreasing by roughly 40% annually. In the latest rankings, Jordan slipped to the 105th position, overtaken by Wallis and Futuna, which also produced 13 metric tons. On the global stage, India, Brazil, and Zimbabwe secured the second, third, and fourth positions respectively in tobacco production for 2023.
