Import of live horses except pure-bred breeding to Bahrain declines in 2016

According to figures announced by United Nations Statistical Office, horses import fell by 28.8 percent compared with the previous year. The indicator declined from 183 270 kilogram in 2015 to 130 490 kilogram previous year, versus the prior year when it rose by 238.14%. Bahrain saw a growth of 243.39% in horses import over the past 17 years. Moreover, it has had the compound average annual growth rate of 0.39 percent over the last five years with a modest overall raise since the start of observations. It averaged 68 191.18 kilogram from 2000 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 189 170 kilogram in 2009 and record low of 7 000 kilogram in 2011.
