Gas and diesel import in Belgium climbs in May 2018

The variable went up by 17.4 percent compared with the previous month, according to revised statistics presented by JODI Data. The indicator rose from 193.71 thousand barrels per day to 227.41 thousand barrels per day, in contrast to the prior month when it decreased by 12.12%. When considering the prior year, it can be noticed that the variable was dropping by -27.58 percent and reached 191.07 thousand barrels per day in May. Between May 2017 and the same month in 2018, the numbers constitute a 19.02 percent variation. Belgium saw an increase of 52.17% in gas and diesel oil import over the past 16 years. Furthermore, the gas and diesel oil import is now above average of 173.65 thousand barrels per day with a overall growth since the start of observations. It hit its all-time high of 342.44 thousand barrels per day in October 2013 and record low of 80.99 thousand barrels per day in February 2010.
