According to new statistics presented by European Commission, flax yarn import dropped by 11.56% in comparison to the previous year. Flax yarn import fell by 4 300 kilogram, in comparison with the prior year when it increased by 18.1 percent. Greece saw a drop of 64.16% in flax yarn import during the last 15 years. Moreover, it has attained a decline at a 0.09% compound average annual growth rate during the 5 years with a modest overall fall since the start of observations. It averaged 66 413.33 kilogram from 2003 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 141 600 kilogram in 2004 and record low of 29 900 kilogram in 2008.
