Import of live horses except pure-bred breeding to Sri Lanka: Diminution in 2017

The indicator sharply went down by 44.25 percent in 2017, according to new statistics issued by United Nations Statistical Office. Horses import greatly dropped by 125 078.56 US Dollar, contrarily to the previous year when it went up by 312.5%. Sri Lanka saw a rise of 1 353.2% in horses import over the past 28 years. Still it has had a decrease at a 0.14 percent compound annual growth rate during the five years with a marginal overall raise since the start of observations. It averaged 35 467.87 US Dollar from 1990 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 327 763 US Dollar in 2013 and record low of 15 US Dollar in 2014.
