Import of live pure-bred breeding horses to Sri Lanka: Decrease in 2017

In comparison to the previous year horses import diminished by 21.71 percent, according to updated statistics announced by United Nations Statistical Office. The variable went down from 22 789 US Dollar in 2016 to 17 841.69 US Dollar prior year, contrarily to the previous year when it rose by 145.94 percent. Sri Lanka saw a fall of 56.28% in horses import during the last 25 years. Besides, it has shown a raise at a 0.14 percent average annual growth rate during the five years with a marginal overall increase since the 1993. It averaged 20 869.31 US Dollar from 1993 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 218 080 US Dollar in 2012 and record low of 3 066 US Dollar in 2009.
