Import of horse, ass, mule, hinny meat to Hong Kong climbs in 2017

Horse meat import greatly increased by 1 619.9 percent compared with the previous year, revised data from United Nations Statistical Office highlight. Horse meat import climbed sharply from 4 338.57 US Dollar to 74 619.15 US Dollar, in comparison with the prior year when it declined by 92.99%. It hit its 17-year peak. The overall changes for the previous 17 years reached a growth of 186.08%. Furthermore, it has shown a 0.06% compound average annual growth rate over the last five years with a slight overall raise since the start of time series. It averaged 11 596.66 US Dollar from 2001 to 2017 and it attained its minimum of 4 338.57 US Dollar in 2016.
