Sales of medicaments of other antibiotics packaged for retail sale in United Kingdom declines in 2016
Antibiotic sales decreased by 7.75 percent in comparison to the prior year, according to statistics published by European Commission. The indicator fell by 36 001.81 thousand Euros, contrarily to the previous year when it rose by 55.2 percent. United Kingdom saw a growth of 13.16% in antibiotic sales over the past 22 years. Still it has shown a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.15 percent over the five years with a marginal overall diminution since the 1995. It averaged 626 033.32 thousand Euros from 1995 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 1 403 401.88 thousand Euros in 2007 and record low of 299 443 thousand Euros in 2014.
