Import of fresh or chilled tomatoes to Italy increases in 2017

According to revised data announced by United Nations Statistical Office, the indicator increased by 11.9% compared with the prior year. The variable grew from 117 825 680 kilogram to 131 844 368 kilogram, versus the previous year when it declined by 17.99 percent. Italy saw a rise of 160.43% in tomatoes import over the past 24 years. Likewise, it has shown a growth at a 0.02 percent CAGR over the five years with a modest overall raise since the start of observations. It averaged 85 293 931.67 kilogram from 1994 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 143 680 000 kilogram in 2015 and record low of 30 136 184 kilogram in 1997.
