Floor space of buildings under construction of enterprises for real estate development in China: Raise in 2017

The indicator slightly increased by 2.14 percent compared with the previous year, according to updated data issued by China National Statistical Office. Building starts negligibly grew from 758 974.81 ten thousand square meter to 775 221.78 ten thousand square meter, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it climbed by 3.16 percent. It reveals the all-time maximum since 2000. China saw an increase of 1 076.42% in building starts over the past 18 years. Likewise, it has attained a growth at a 0.03% compound average annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a modest overall raise since the 2000. It averaged 380 315.32 ten thousand square meter from 2000 to 2017 and it reached its minimum of 65 896.92 ten thousand square meter in 2000.
