Coffee production in Burundi falls in 2017

According to data released by International Coffee Organization, coffe production negligibly diminished by 3.18 percent compared with the previous year. The indicator went down hardly by 8.22 thousand of bags (60kg), as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it decreased by 5.79%. Burundi saw a decline of 48.71% in coffe production during the last 28 years. Likewise, it has attained a 0.09% compound annual growth rate during the 5 years with a negligible overall decrease since the 1990. It averaged 358.35 thousand of bags (60kg) from 1990 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 667.2 thousand of bags (60kg) in 1991 and record low of 103.31 thousand of bags (60kg) in 2005.
