Coffee production in Burundi drops in 2017

Coffe production barely diminished by 3.18% in 2017, refreshed numbers from International Coffee Organization demonstrate. The indicator fell slightly from 258.22 thousand of bags (60kg) in 2016 to 250 thousand of bags (60kg) prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it declined by 5.79%. Burundi saw a drop of 48.71% in coffe production over the past 28 years. Moreover, it has attained a 0.09 percent compound annual growth rate during the five years with a slight overall decline since the start of observations. It averaged 358.35 thousand of bags (60kg) from 1990 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 667.2 thousand of bags (60kg) in 1991 and record low of 103.31 thousand of bags (60kg) in 2005.
