Lead in concentrates production in South Africa: Decline in 2016

U.S. Geological Survey announced that lead production declined negligibly by 2.44 percent in comparison with the year before. The indicator diminished slightly by 1 000 metric ton, contrarily to the prior year when it went up by 41.38%. South Africa saw a decrease of 52.45% in lead production over the past 19 years. Moreover, it has attained a diminution at a 0.05 percent compound annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a negligible overall drop since the 1998. It averaged 50 824.95 metric ton from 1998 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 84 128 metric ton in 1998 and record low of 29 000 metric ton in 2014.
