Crude oil demand in China falls in May 2018

According to statistics announced by JODI Data, in comparison with the prior month the variable slightly fell by 2.12%. Crude oil demand barely dropped from 404 239.69 thousand barrels to 395 689.91 thousand barrels, versus the previous month when it rose by 0.49%. The prior year, this variation attained 5.94% and the indicator reached 389 006.75 thousand barrels in May 2017. Year-on-year, this highlights a 1.72% fluctuation between May 2017 and May 2018. China saw a rise of 220.98% in crude oil demand over the past 16 years. Besides, the crude oil demand is now above average of 252 490.43 thousand barrels with a modest overall increase since the 2002. It hit its all-time high of 404 239.69 thousand barrels in April 2018 and record low of 117 998.4 thousand barrels in February 2002.
