Sales of margarine and reduced and low fat spreads in France falls in 2016

According to refreshed statistics announced by European Commission, spreads sales dropped by 6.97 percent compared to the prior year. The indicator fell from 57 277.99 thousand kilograms to 53 284.74 thousand kilograms, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it went down by 7.89%. It shows the all-time minimum since 1995. France saw a decline of 64.55% in spreads sales during the last 22 years. Moreover, it has attained a fall at a 0.03% average annual growth rate during the five years with a negligible overall decrease since the start of observations. It averaged 92 250.14 thousand kilograms from 1995 to 2016 and it hit its maximum of 165 841.78 thousand kilograms in 1996.
