New vehicles registrations in Sri Lanka declines in 2017

Vehicle registration decreased sharply by 54.14 percent in 2017, refreshed figures from OICA pinpoint. The indicator went down strongly from 34 900 in 2016 to 16 006 prior year, versus the previous year when it climbed by 105.29 percent. The overall changes for the prior 13 years attained a rise of 300.15%. Furthermore, it has attained the average annual growth rate of 0.06% during the last 5 years with a slight overall raise since the 2005. It averaged 10 662 from 2005 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 34 900 in 2016 and record low of 3 000 in 2010.
