Fuel oil demand in Portugal declines in June 2018

According to adjusted data published by JODI Data, in June 2018 fuel oil demand decreased by 21.8 percent. Fuel oil demand dropped from 857.85 thousand barrels to 670.8 thousand barrels, contrarily to the previous month when it went up by 12.71 percent. The prior year, the indicator was decreasing by -13.89% and attained 599.85 thousand barrels the same month in 2017. This highlights a 11.83% variation between June 2017 and the same month the year after. Portugal saw a drop of 78.64% in fuel oil demand during the last 16 years. Furthermore, the fuel oil demand is now below average of 1 205.56 thousand barrels with a negligible overall decrease since the start of observations. It hit its all-time high of 3 141.15 thousand barrels in January 2002 and record low of 464.4 thousand barrels in December 2014.
