Import of maize bran, sharps, other residues to Georgia: Raise in 2017

Maize import went up strongly by 276.54 percent compared to the previous year, revised statistics from United Nations Statistical Office constitute. Maize import sharply increased by 33 049 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it climbed by 32.79%. Georgia saw a decrease of 62.52% in maize import over the past 22 years. Besides, it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.16 percent over the last five years with a marginal overall growth since the start of observations. It averaged 63 863.55 kilogram from 1996 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 638 600 kilogram in 2007 and record low of 32 kilogram in 2000.
