European Commission announced that compared to the previous year the variable went up by 9.23 percent. Flax yarn import increased from 542 430 Euro to 592 500 Euro, contrarily to the prior year when it dropped by 46.79 percent. Netherlands saw an increase of 84.61% in flax yarn import during the last 14 years. However, it has shown a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.15 percent during the 5 years with a marginal overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 753 019.29 Euro from 2003 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 2 432 240 Euro in 2011 and record low of 161 560 Euro in 2008.
