Import of horse, ass, mule, hinny meat to Kazakhstan goes up in 2017

Compared with the prior year the indicator greatly increased by 180.85 percent, adjusted numbers from United Nations Statistical Office display. Horse meat import strongly went up by 1 713 451.5 kilogram, in comparison with the previous year when it dropped by 70.44 percent. Kazakhstan saw a growth of 14 283.35% in horse meat import over the past 18 years. However, it has attained a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.11 percent over the last five years with a slight overall rise since the start of observations. It averaged 1 876 357.47 kilogram from 2000 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 5 858 400 kilogram in 2012 and record low of 500 kilogram in 2003.
